Launch Night Review

What an incredible night I am still catching my breath. It has been nearly a month since our launch night and I am 100% still on cloud nine.

Launching a new business can be very tricky as it has to be just right. Not only does it introduce your brand to the world but also sets the tone for the future. It was such a difficult decision as to when to hold the launch especially since we knew the actual store wasn’t going to be ready for at least another month. The reason we chose to launch early and in the format of a party was to give our guests a chance to see what we are about in a relaxed setting that promotes wedding inspiration and not pressure to purchase or sales of any kind. It also means that when our doors do open that it then becomes all about the brides and not the business which is how we feel it should be.

For those who were unable to make it we had some incredible suppliers joining us for the event showcasing everything from bespoke cocktails to cleaning everyone’s engagement rings. I will be doing a full blog on those suppliers later in the year as I think they deserve their own spotlight. The evening was set out for people to mix and mingle around the different suppliers whilst enjoying some live music, cocktails and canapes.

Launch night catwalk

Arguably the main event was the live catwalk where we showcased the Eva Joyce collections in all their glory. For me this part of the evening went by in a blur as I was giving a running commentary on each dress. I have to say it was so emotional seeing such incredibly beautiful real women dancing down the catwalk in my creations. It is like seeing your dream come to life in front of your eyes….and then realising you have a microphone in your hand and people are expecting you to talk!! It was incredible to see so many faces with smiles and admiration it really was a huge success. Not only that but getting to chat to so many prospective brides and talk to them about their style ideas, which dresses they loved and what is worrying them about the shopping experience. It is something I am so grateful I got the chance to do.

I am so thankful to everyone who attended and who shared all of the social media to get our brand out there in the world. It is the small things like sharing a post that really make a difference to small businesses like ours.

There were so many people working behind the scenes to make this event such a success and I still get emotional thinking about the wonderful family and friends I have been blessed with. From my 78yr old dad spending hours up a ladder hanging fairy lights, to my aunties running around fastening zippers and carrying dresses and serving food and my wonderful partner thrusting a box of popcorn chicken in my hand reminding me to eat something or I will pass out. Then finally my wonderful mum who was the beating heart of the event co-ordinating everything behind the scenes even helping me mop the floor at midnight the night before so the dresses wouldn’t get dirty.

This business wouldn’t be possible if I wasn’t so lucky to have all these people in my life and I am forever grateful for them. What an amazing night and here is to the next phase of my life as the owner, designer and MD of :
