I think even Megan will agree when she first walked through our doors we all thought finding her dream dress was going to be a challenge. What was so amazing about this stunning bride was her clear vision for her special day. We quickly came to realise non of my sample designs were quite where we wanted to be. It wasn’t until she tried on the one short 50’s style T-length dress “for fun” that things took a turn. Now let me explain a little bit about the creative process of an Eva Joyce bridal appointment.
During the appointment each bride tries on a number of our sample designs. They are all in various sizes and have different elements that we can customise. Usually as the designer I will do my best to create the desired custom look using tricks and techniques like adding sleeves, playing with glitter fabrics or clipping in areas to change the shape. However there are some elements that the bride will just have to try visualise and essentially trust me as a designer that I can create exactly what they are looking for.
I cannot thank Megan enough for her trust and faith in me as a designer. Even her guests during her appointment were struggling to get the full vision and quite understandably advised her to think about everything before she said yes!
I am so so happy that she saw exactly what I was trying to create and that is how we took a dress that was 3 sizes too big, a T-length skirt and fully lined bodice to the elegant, flowing, perfectly structured gown!
